Canadian electroacoustic composer and musician Sarah Davachi performs, “Instrumental I,” using a vintage Hammond Novachord (1939). Decades ahead of its time, the Novachord is considered the very first analog, fully polyphonic synthesizer.
In 2021, Davachi spent a week as the National Music Centre’s Stingray Classical Artist in Residence, experimenting with a vast collection of musical instruments.
This online concert is sponsored by Stingray and presented in partnership with the National Music Centre, New Works Calgary, and Canadian New Music Network.
