Electric Religious is the project of Métis singer-songwriter and guitarist Brandon Baker (hailing from Treaty 6). Here he discusses how the spirit of Jimi Hendrix inspired his namesake, and music as a gateway to exploring his Métis identity.
In 2022, Brandon Baker, along with four other emerging Indigenous artists, converged at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, for a five-day intensive artist development program that offered career guidance, mentorship from music industry leaders, and the opportunity for artists to connect with each other and share ideas.
Sponsored by TD, the OHSOTO’KINO Music Incubator is supporting the next wave of Indigenous talent and amplifying Indigenous stories through music.
