NMC’s education department is excited to offer new in-school programming, bringing musician educators and instruments into classrooms across Calgary. Our programs give students hands-on music-making experiences that explore curricular topics such as electricity and circuits or Acadian culture. We are in need of specific items to help make our programs magical. Can you help?
- Large Rubbermaid bins with lids
- Medium and small reusable containers with lids (tupperware is fine!)
- Upright dolly cart, prefer folding
- Power bars
- Extension cords
- Wooden clogs/shoes
- Washboards
- Mason/canning jars with lids
- Mic stands and cables
- Dynamic microphones
- Carbon microphones
- Rotary phones
- Computer speakers
- Woodwind and brass instruments (ie: trumpet, trombone, clarinet, tuba)
- Electric and acoustic guitars
- Electric bass
- Guitar strings
- Guitar picks and capos
- Patch cords
- Jaw harp
- Spoons, instruments
- Fiddles/Violins
- Hand percussion (ie: maracas)
- Indian instruments (ie: tablas, harmonium, sitar)
Our popular afterschool program Guitar Club is moving into a new, larger space that needs to become a rock den! We are looking for donations of piano blankets or other thick, heavy wool blankets, room dividers (ie: paneled/modular cubicle system, freestanding), area rugs, rock n’roll posters, lamps, side tables and living room chairs.
