Singer-songwriter LJ Tyson (hailing from Big River First Nation in Saskatchewan) shares how they have begun to embrace their queer identity within their music, and how their personal experiences influence their songwriting.
In 2023, LJ Tyson, along with three other emerging Indigenous artists, converged at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, for a five-day intensive artist development program that offered career guidance, mentorship from music industry leaders, and the opportunity for artists to connect with each other and share ideas.
Sponsored by TD, the OHSOTO’KINO Music Incubator is supporting the next wave of Indigenous talent and amplifying Indigenous stories through music.
