Bebe Buckskin, a Cree/Métis artist from the great muskeg of Northern Alberta, channels Northern grit and soul through her signature blend of classic blues-rock, outlaw country, folk, and R&B.
In 2024, she was awarded a week-long residency at National Music Centre to write and record new music using NMC’s “living collection.” She discusses the writing process behind “Velvet Skies,” one of the songs recorded during the residency.
