Bebe Buckskin, a Cree/Métis artist from the great muskeg of Northern Alberta, channels Northern grit and soul through her signature blend of classic blues-rock, outlaw country, folk, and R&B.
In 2024, she was awarded a week-long residency at National Music Centre to write and record new music using NMC’s « living collection. » She discusses the writing process behind « Velvet Skies, » one of the songs recorded during the residency.
