Country-roots artist Trent Agecoutay from Cowessess First Nation offers a window into his family’s story through his song, « Little Sister, Mama and Me. » He shares how the track evolved from being about his father’s experiences growing up on the reserve to becoming a reflection of his own childhood and admiration for his musician father.
In 2025, brothers Trent and Bryce Agecoutay joined a group of Indigenous artists from across Canada at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, for a five-day intensive artist development program. The experience provided career guidance, mentorship from leading music industry professionals, and meaningful opportunities for collaboration and creative exchange among the artists.
