Mattmac, a blind music producer and recording artist from Garden Hill First Nation in Manitoba, shares the message behind his track, “Break Me Down,” and some of the tools he used to create the song in collaboration with rapper-producer Question ATL, and songwriter-producer Jacky Levare.
In 2023, Mattmac was the winner of CBC Music’s Searchlight contest. Among other prizes, he was awarded a week-long residency at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, in Calgary.
