OHSOTO’KINO: Big Tones Lets the Light in on New Track

For Pasqua First Nation rapper Big Tones, stepping into the studio while navigating grief brought a new wave of inspiration. The result is “Shine,” a song about the light that lives in all of us and the importance of giving it room to glow.

In 2026, Big Tones joined Indigenous artists from across Canada at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, for a five-day artist development program. The experience offered career guidance and mentorship from leading music industry professionals, while creating space for artists to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas.

Sponsored by TD, the National Music Centre’s OHSOTO’KINO Music Incubator is supporting the next wave of Indigenous talent and amplifying Indigenous stories through music.
