Folk-roots singer-songwriter T. Buckley is giving us a sneak peek from his forthcoming album, Frame by Frame, with a lyric video for lead single, « Before I Get to Turn Around. »
The video features photos from his recording sessions at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, where the album was produced before the second lockdown in December of 2020.
« Before I Get to Turn Around, » is a soulful roots tune and powerful observation about the paths we take in life and the challenges that come with trying to outrun the past.
According to a press release, T. Buckley penned the single « after receiving a late-night phone call from an old friend who was driving to a new town to start over. He was just one of a number of young men from Buckley’s childhood community in south Calgary who had found themselves caught up in drug trafficking or victims of overdose. »
