Markus Resch is the co-owner and contemporary creator of Mellotron, the iconic polyphonic tape replay keyboard used by the Beatles, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, and many others. At NMC ON, Resch presented a workshop with the instrument and delved into Mellotron’s origins.
Resch’s appearance launched the John Leimseider Technician in Residence program, named in honour of NMC’s late electronics technician who passed away in 2018. This new program will give technicians from around the world the opportunity to explore and expand their expertise, while contributing to the care and maintenance of NMC’s historic instrument collection.
