In celebration of 30 years of Black History Month in Canada, Master T has curated 30 Songs for 30 Years, a powerful playlist tracing the growth of Black Canadian music over three decades.
Spanning genres and generations, the collection features JUNO Award winners, international hitmakers, Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees, hip-hop trailblazers that were recently honoured on the 2026 Black History Month Canada Post stamp, and voices from Alberta’s ever-evolving Black music community. Together, these tracks mark 30 years of resilience, creativity, and cultural influence that continue to shape Canada’s sound.
National Music Centre’s Black History Month 30-Year Celebration takes place in Calgary on February 7, 2026. The free event will feature live music, a fashion show, a community market, and conversations with Black leaders. Learn more at studiobell.ca.
