Stingray Classical Artist in Residence: Andrea Botticelli

Classical pianist Andrea Botticelli shares her experience exploring the National Music Centre’s historical instrument collection.

As a Stingray Classical Artist in Residence, Botticelli spent an extended period of time at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, playing and researching the Dulcken Fortepiano (1791) and the replica Bartolomeo Cristofori Grand Piano (2000), specifically.

Using these instruments, Botticelli paired sonatas from the 18th century by Domenico Scarlatti and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and worked with an NMC audio engineer to create recorded samples.
